Nottingham Forest has a chance to cash in on yet another teenager at RB Leipzig’s expense.
Less than a year after splashing out £13 million to sign Forest winger Oliver Burke, RB Leipzig has returned to City Ground in hopes of signing midfielder Matty Cash.
The Championship side is understood to be contemplating a transfer bid from Leipzig worth £6 million for the 19-year-old, according to the Guardian.
Cash has been one of the bright spots for Forest in an otherwise disappointing season as the English side sits just two points above relegation in the Championship through 25 matches.
Cash – who made his senior debut in August – has been limited to just 12 appearances after an injury forced him to miss over two months.
Last summer, Leipzig set a record for a transfer involving a Scottish player when it secured Burke’s services from Forest.
Leipzig entered the winter break just three points back of Bundesliga table-toppers Bayern Munich.
