Minnesota United is reportedly closing in on the acquisition of onetime U.S. men’s national team prospect Joshua Gatt, with a source telling the Star Tribune’s Megan Ryan that the MLS expansion outfit is set to complete a deal with the player soon.

The 25-year-old Michigan native has featured for the United States on a few occasions, but earned his last call-up in 2013. He has made 74 appearances for Molde FK in the last six seasons, helping the club win the Norwegian first division in 2011, 2012, and 2014.

However, his contract looks to have expired on Jan. 1.

Gatt would be the sixth player to join the Loons out of Scandinavia, where sporting director Manny Lagos spent time scouting during the club’s first offseason.
