Transfer Gossip: Ramsey done at Juve, United linked with everybody

Not even a lengthy work stoppage can dampen the never-ending nature of transfer talk. Here’s a look at the wild rumors making the rounds this week.

United plot abundant advances

Usual big spenders Manchester United are seemingly linked with half the players in Europe. Sport claims the Red Devils are interested in Barcelona teen Ansu Fati as a Plan B to Jadon Sancho, while the Daily Star reckons they’re “very close” to meeting Fiorentina’s valuation of Federico Chiesa.

The enduring fascination with Dutch delight Donny van de Beek won’t go away, either. Ajax CEO and United legend Edwin van der Sar told Dutch outlet Nos that it’s “clear that clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United are showing interest in” the 23-year-old midfielder.

RMC Sport adds that United have also kicked off discussions with Corentin Tolisso’s handlers after Bayern Munich alerted the English giants and Inter Milan that the French midfielder can be had for as little as €35 million.

Inter might fancy saving a few bucks for prodigious Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali since Sky Sport Italia claims the highly coveted 20-year-old prefers a summer move to the Nerazzurri rather than Juventus.

That’s persuaded Inter gaffer Antonio Conte to contact Tonali amid reports from SempreInter that Brescia require €30 million for the Italian international, plus €12 million in add-ons. A one-year loan could also be in the cards for the acclaimed playmaker, who’s an ideal blend of Andrea Pirlo and Gennaro Gattuso.

Ramsey suddenly too rich for Juve’s taste

Money saved on free transfers is often allocated to a player’s pay package, as when Juventus gave big bucks to the likes of Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey.

But now, the Daily Mail reports that Juve are looking to ship Ramsey out after just one season. Rumors say two unknown English clubs have been alerted to the availability of the oft-injured Welshman.

Last week, a French report associated soon-to-be free agent Thiago Silva with both an AC Milan return and a reunion with former Paris Saint-Germain tutor Carlo Ancelotti at Everton.

Now, it looks like Arsenal, Newcastle, Wolves, and West Ham are also in pursuit of the 35-year-old center-back, according to 90min. Considering the upcoming window is likely to be rife with thrifty moves, Silva will have his pick of the lot, so go ahead and cross West Ham from the list.

Arsenal notified of Upamecano availibility

Speaking of Arsenal, the Gunners are keen to sign towering French defender Dayot Upamecano, and the north London lot might actually have a chance to do so this summer.

German outlet Bild reports that Arsenal’s previous €60-million bid was rebuffed, but with RB Leipzig eager to make a few bucks on the ball-stopper before potentially losing him next summer, that same amount will now reportedly trigger the 21-year-old’s release clause.

Canny Foxes hunt Chelsea’s Plan B

Chelsea are allegedly eyeing Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell as a remedy to dismaying left-back duo of Marcos Alonso and Emerson, though if the England man is too pricey for their tastes, Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico is the backup plan.

Here’s how this works: Leicester balk at Chelsea’s bids, driving up Chilwell’s price to exorbitant rates, as with Harry Maguire. Then, the Foxes chase a low-cost stand-in – the Mirror reports that Leicester are monitoring Tagliafico. It almost makes too much sense.

Bits and bobs

In France, nouveau riche Nice are in talks with Everton outcast Morgan Schneiderlin over a €2-million recruitment, while Reims look set to lose prized central defender Axel Disasi to Wolves for €15 million. Also, it looks like Tanguy Kouassi will leave Paris Saint-Germain on June 30 after failing to agree to new terms, though the 18-year-old defender won’t join either AC Milan or RB Leipzig as previously thought.

Elsewhere, Real Sociedad chief Jokin Aperribay reckons loanee Martin Odegaard will stay put with the Basque club, though it’s Real Madrid who hold the option. Finally, Champions League final vagabond Loris Karius says he’ll stay at Liverpool to fight for a job after a two-year loan at Besiktas.
