Who said Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez is no longer clinical?
On Saturday, Chicharito finally brought an end to his scoring drought, heading a corner kick past Yann Sommer in the 34th minute of Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga fixture against Borussia Monchengladbach. The goal marked the Mexican striker’s first since October, first in 783 Bundesliga minutes, first in 1,128 minutes in all competitions, and first in 1,400 minutes for club and country.
Chicharito, whose contract reportedly won’t be extended this summer, last scored on Oct. 1, when Leverkusen defeated Borussia Dortmund.
