Manchester United star Henrikh Mkhitaryan got the ball rolling on Wednesday with a somewhat fortuitous goal against Saint-Etienne, scoring from inside the box by controlling a left-footed curling effort from Juan Mata that somehow managed to find the far post.

It gave the Red Devils a 4-0 aggregate lead in this second leg Europa League clash, but Mkhitaryan’s day ended 10 minutes later as the Armenia midfielder picked up an injury, which BBC Sport reports was of his hamstring.

Manager Jose Mourinho opted to give Marcus Rashford a run out in his stead. Still, Mkhitaryan can rest easy knowing his contributions to the match have been noted; he has now been involved in five goals in his last six matches for United in all competitions

However, with the League Cup final on Sunday, an injury will not be well received by Mourinho’s side.
