Report: Pogba pushing for summer exit, United to demand €100M

Paul Pogba could be available this summer, but a successful bid for the Manchester United midfielder won’t be cheap.

The French international is apparently eager to leave United at the end of this season and could be set for a summer switch to either Juventus or Real Madrid, according to The Guardian’s Fabrizio Romano.

However, United are expected to demand a fee in the region of €100 million for Pogba, Romano added.

While Juventus and Real Madrid will likely be in the running to sign the 26-year-old, whose current contract runs until June 2021, the clubs could be put off by United’s valuation for a player who’s largely underwhelmed since joining the Red Devils in 2016.

Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, told reporters on Thursday that his client is eager to return to Italy and represent Juventus again. Pogba established himself as one of the world’s top players during his four-year spell with the Bianconeri before returning to United for €105 million (£89.3 million).

It’s understood that the sweepstakes to sign Pogba will likely pick up steam following his participation at Euro 2020 with France.

First, Raiola is expected to meet with United officials during the spring to gauge their plans over a possible contract extension. Based on those discussions, the Italian agent could notify the club of his client’s intention to leave, according to Romano.

Pogba has been out of the lineup since Boxing Day. A persistent ankle injury and an illness have limited him to just five Premier League starts this season.
