Watch: Mainz's Danny Latza completes hat-trick with 20-yard bullet

It’s not often that a defensive midfielder tallies a hat-trick, but Danny Latza isn’t your typical defensive midfielder.

On Saturday, in only his fourth appearance of the 2016-17 Bundesliga season, Latza did something that hadn’t been done in a decade by scoring all three of FSV Mainz 05’s goals in the club’s 3-1 victory over Hamburger SV.

Not only that, but the German midfielder’s third goal was a thing of beauty, as he rocketed a loose ball past the outstretched fingertips of Christian Mathenia from 20 yards out.
